What is The Madame X Academy?

The Madame X Academy creates immersive, one-of-a-kind experiences that bring untold African-American history to life through hands-on, culturally rooted activities—connecting youth, families, and communities to legacy, innovation, and identity.

This is not a history class, STEM workshop, art studio, nor social club. We are all of those things and more! We create experiences woven together inside immersive, themed adventures that engage the hands, the mind, and the imagination simultaneously. We're something that didn't have a name, so we made one up: an experiences organization.

Each Madame X Academy experience is built around ever-changing, rarely repeating themes — anything from espionage and fashion, to beekeeping — and our multisensory activities are layered with the extraordinary stories of real African-American historical figures whose brilliance and resilience changed the world, often without the recognition they deserved.

We are expanding, and we’re doing it with intention.

The Madame X Academy has always believed that the most powerful education happens between peers and among generations. As a result, we found it only fitting to broaden our reach, and open our doors to our extended community of mothers, grandmothers, mentors, and friends who have always shared our lives experiences.

Now they're invited to join in the fun, because inspiration doesn't have an age limit.
